Musher/Sled Dog Tour Guide:
1 position available Positions run through April, 2009
Salary: $1,500/month + tips paid every 2 weeks Rent: $133/month + 1/3 utilities (bunk style living quarters 3 people per apartment)
No previous mushing experience necessary, although experience with animals, guiding, outdoor/winter, customer service skills preferred. Must be a good team player. Current First Aid & CPR (certified through April 2009.) Heavy lifting and exposure to extreme outdoor environmental conditions.

Description:

Requirements:
Ability

minimum supervision. Ability to work outdoors for extended periods.
Medical, fire, and security experience preferred. Knowledge of

Lift Technician I An

Description:
· The purpose of lift maintenance is to provide safe,
efficient and
reliable transportation to our guests and employees of the Canyons
resort.
·
To operate chair lifts within the
guidelines of Utah
tramway safety committee rules and ansi b77 code books.
·
All training and duties should point toward attaining Lift technician 2
status.
DUTIES
& RESPONSIBILITIES:
·
Provide superior
service to our customers, internal and external, by following the
Resort Etiquette Guidelines.
·
During winter season,
required to conduct Daily, Weekly and monthly inspections for any
existing or potential problems, to maintain and repair lifts according
to prescribed procedures see maintenance manuals.
·
Must be able to open assigned lifts for operation.
·
Including: Turning on
main power (480 vac), turn on low voltage, perform all stop and safety
checks at all stations, check all fluids at stations including primary,
secondary, spacing gear boxes, brakes, hydraulic tension, apu and
tertiary reservoirs, battery fluid levels and so forth.
·
Perform drive checks:
checking all machinery and mechanical parts of the drive station,
including primary drive, auxiliary drive, primary, secondary and
spacing gear boxes, fluid levels, batteries, terminal sheaves, tires,
belts, brake pads, hoses, and so forth.
·
Perform return checks:
check carriage position, tension systems, terminal sheaves, tires,
belts, hoses, batteries, and so forth.
·
Perform line checks:
checking for proper sheave alignment, liner wear & condition,
potential bearing failures, and so forth.
·
During regular
inspections, make necessary minor adjustments, perform a variety of
preventive maintenance work on lifts, and repair or replace worn or
broken parts.
·
When mechanical problems
are reported, locate and diagnose problems, plan and perform necessary
minor repairs, and report major problems to supervisor.
·
Maintain written logs and records of all inspections, maintenance and
repair work done.
·
Maintain clean lift stations, tools, equipment and shop work areas.
·
Must treat all company property and personnel with respect and care.
·
Perform other tasks as assigned.
·
Must be able to name all
the components of the lift including mechanical and electrical
components located at each station. See maintenance manual.
·
Must be able to name the type of configuration of each lift on
mountain.
·
Must be able and qualified to operate snowmobile safely on the
mountain.
·
Must be able to check
auxiliary drive fluid levels, start and hook up auxiliary and be able
to clear assigned lifts in power outage situation.
·
Must be able to check tire pressures and wear and be able to change
unassisted.
·
Check terminal belts for proper tension and wear and be able to change
or tension unassisted.
·
Must be able to complete written log sheets, work orders and daily log
sheets.
·
Must be able to start up assigned lifts on electric and auxiliary.
·
Must be able to determine safe operating speed of lift given current
weather conditions.
·
Must be able to perform basic maintenance checks.
·
Must be able to perform
grip, hanger, carrier and chair inspections; inspecting operation and
condition of all components, bolt and welded connections.
·
Must be able to identify excessive wear and tear to lift components and
notify supervisor of condition.
·
Must be able to align terminal machinery and repair minor terminal
problems.
·
Must be able to inspect the haul rope and identify its parts.
·
Must be able to diagnose and repair basic mechanical problems relating
to towers and lift line.
·
Must be able to change all fluids, tires, sheaves, bearings, and align
towers.
·
Perform a variety of lift maintenance and construction tasks and
projects.
Work

be proficient in of the following Lift Maintenance skills:
Welding,
precision tools
and alignment, gas or diesel engine maintenance, rigging, hydraulics,

WORKING
RELATIONSHIP:
Moderate
